Other Expedition

With the success of the Magellan expedition, King Charles planned more expeditions to the East. One of these expeditions was organized by King Charles which is headed by Ruy Lopez de Villalobos in 1542. It had orders to go to the Philippines, colonize the country and convert all of the peoples to Christianity. Villalobos gave the name Felipinas to the Philippines in Honor of King Philip II. Like the former expeditions, the Villalobos expedition failed to accomplish their mission.
